Kasper founded Vibrant in 2020 together with Anders Kaels Malmos and Kåre Brøgger Sørensen to democratize the payment industry and to create an amazing payment experience at a fair and transparent price for merchants of all sizes in all parts of the world. Kasper would tell the story like this:
“I was walking into small coffee shops and saying, “Hi, I’m Kasper and I do payments””. As he was saying that, he was met with skeptical and disgusted 😡 merchants asking “Are you from Nets?”. Interactions like these inspired him to go on research mode and try to understand why business owners were not wanting to talk to payment providers and realized how broken the system was. It also happened, that Clearhaus, a payment solution provider and acquirer for many webshops all over Europe, had tight connection to the Vibrant founding team and the rest was history.
Clearhaus is also one of our early-stage investors meaning they both supported the founding team with knowledge and resources in the beginning, but they are also very interested in helping to make us succeed ⭐️ and can also often be seen wandering around the Aarhus office 🎈
Kasper, Kåre and Anders go way back and have done business together for nearly a decade. Previously they were together co-founders at Lix Technologies (Raised 10mEUR), a Danish startup focused on creating a learning platform for students. It was a platform that could be used for accessing textbooks. Students could purchase their textbooks through Lix and make notes in the application – from there it was possible to share notes with other students. Lix Technologies ran for 5 years across the Nordics, employing over 40+ people. As Covid-19 hit, the founders were forced to shut down the company, but as evident from the founding team and several other people who are now in Vibrant, they didn’t stop for long.
Vibrant is today owned by Kasper, Kåre and Anders, together with several venture capital funds and private investors (Clearhaus, Quickpay, ByFounders and Luminar Ventures). We’re headquartered in Aarhus with 25+ people from 9+ nationalities. We also have remote offices in Barcelona, Alicante, Copenhagen, Stockholm.
We launched first in Denmark in 2021, followed quickly by Cyprus and Spain in August 2021. First test transactions in Norway were done in June, 2022 and the journey is just starting 🚀
